Terms of Service

01 Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Service. If you are using GolfIsHard on behalf of a business, organization, golf club, team, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.

02 Your Account

Certain features may require you to create an account.

You agree to provide accurate and current information and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity occurring through your account and should notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or interfere with other users.

03 The GolfIsHard Service

GolfIsHard provides golf-related digital features, tools, content, and services.

Features may be added, modified, improved, removed, or discontinued over time. We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available or that the Service will operate without interruption or errors.

GolfIsHard is intended to enhance your golf experience but is not a substitute for official tournament systems, official handicapping systems, course rules, or governing-body decisions unless expressly stated otherwise.

04 Golf Scores and User-Provided Information

You are responsible for the accuracy of golf scores, statistics, handicap information, course information, profile information, and other data you submit through the Service.

GolfIsHard may calculate, organize, display, compare, or analyze information based on data provided by users or third parties. We cannot guarantee that all calculations, course information, statistics, rankings, or other results will always be accurate or complete.

For official competitions or handicap purposes, you are responsible for confirming information through the applicable golf club, tournament organizer, handicap authority, or governing body.

05 Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse GolfIsHard or interfere with the normal operation of the Service.

You may not use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation;
• Harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm another person;
• Submit fraudulent or intentionally misleading information;
• Manipulate scores, rankings, contests, leaderboards, or other results;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data;
• Introduce viruses, malicious software, or other harmful code;
• Scrape, crawl, copy, or systematically collect data from the Service without our permission;
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service except where expressly permitted by law;
• Use automated systems or bots in a way that places an unreasonable burden on the Service; or
• Use GolfIsHard for an unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose.

If you enter another person's mobile number or email address for optional result delivery, you must have permission to use it for that round. GolfIsHard prepares an addressed draft, but you remain responsible for choosing the recipient and pressing Send in your own messaging app or email app.

06 User Content

GolfIsHard may allow users to submit information, text, scores, photographs, comments, usernames, profile information, or other materials (“User Content”).

You retain ownership of your User Content.

By submitting User Content, you grant GolfIsHard a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and otherwise use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, improve, and provide the Service.

You represent that you have the necessary rights to submit your User Content and that your content does not violate the rights of another person or organization.

We may remove User Content that violates these Terms or that we reasonably determine is inappropriate, unlawful, harmful, or disruptive to the Service.

07 Intellectual Property

The GolfIsHard name, branding, logos, website and application design, software, graphics, original content, features, and other materials provided through the Service are owned by GolfIsHard or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Except as expressly permitted by us, you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, sell, license, or commercially exploit our intellectual property.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of GolfIsHard intellectual property to you.

08 Third-Party Services

GolfIsHard may integrate with or provide links to third-party websites, golf services, payment providers, mapping services, analytics platforms, social networks, or other services.

Third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. GolfIsHard does not control and is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, content, or practices of third-party services.

09 Purchases and Subscriptions

GolfIsHard offers optional paid Pro memberships. Joining a round, entering scores, viewing live standings and balances, and using shared course scorecards remain available without a paid Pro membership. The current Pro features and prices are shown on the Membership screen before checkout.

Eligible new subscribers may receive the free-trial period shown at checkout. A valid payment method is required to begin the trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your chosen monthly or annual plan automatically begins and Stripe charges the payment method you provided.

Subscriptions automatically renew at the displayed billing frequency and price until canceled. You may cancel or update your payment method through Manage Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless Stripe or applicable law states otherwise, and access normally continues through that date.

GolfIsHard may grant complimentary Pro access or a personalized discount to an account. A discount applies when shown in a new Stripe checkout. Complimentary access does not automatically cancel an existing paid subscription; the subscriber remains responsible for canceling that subscription through Manage Billing when appropriate.

Unless otherwise required by law or stated at the time of purchase, payments are non-refundable. Stripe processes Pro membership payments under its own terms and privacy policy. GolfIsHard does not charge a fee or take a percentage of wagers or user-to-user settlements recorded in the app.

10 Promotions, Challenges, and Contests

GolfIsHard may occasionally offer challenges, competitions, giveaways, promotions, or similar features.

Additional rules may apply to these activities. If additional rules conflict with these Terms, the specific rules for that promotion or competition will control with respect to that activity.

GolfIsHard reserves the right to disqualify participants who manipulate results, submit fraudulent information, violate applicable rules, or otherwise attempt to gain an unfair advantage.

11 Privacy

Your use of GolfIsHard is also subject to our Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used, stored, and shared when you use the Service.

12 Service Availability

We work to keep GolfIsHard available and functioning properly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.

The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, third-party outages, updates, or circumstances outside our control.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time, subject to applicable law.

15 Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless GolfIsHard and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your User Content, or your violation of another person's rights.

16 Suspension and Termination

You may stop using GolfIsHard at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for GolfIsHard or other users, or misused the Service.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification—will remain in effect.

17 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as GolfIsHard evolves.

When we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Service, by email, or by updating the “Last Updated” date above.

Your continued use of GolfIsHard after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.

18 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be handled in the courts having appropriate jurisdiction in Massachusetts, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
